$28.9 million will fund carbon capture across Canada

The federal government is committed to $28.9 million in funding for a series of renewable energy and carbon capture projects throughout Canada.

Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson announced last week that the money will come from Canada’s Energy Innovation Program. This program is meant to promote clean tech while keeping Canadian energy competitive and reliable.

The lion’s share of the funding will support five projects focused on carbon capture, utilization and storage. About 9$ million will fund renewable energy projects, specifically solar power.
