The Government of Canada announced last week that it will fund five projects in Alberta and the Northwest Territories under the Low Carbon Economy Fund. As part of the country’s clean growth and climate action plans, the Low Carbon Economy Fund invests in projects that reduce emissions, generate clean growth, strengthen communities and create jobs.
The recipients include:
- Sherrit International (Fort Saskatchewan) for a Boiler Economizer project
- Canvendish Farms (Lethbridge) for a Fryer Heat Recovery project.
- Taurus Canada Renewable National Gas (Rural Alberta) for a Small-Scale Carbon Capture and Storage from Feedlot Manure Anaerobic Digestion.
- Denendeh Manor (Yellowknife) for an energy retrofit project on an apartment building.
- Inuvialuit Regional Corporation for an ISR Renewable Energy Cabin Retrofit project.
The total funding provided will be approximately $13,360,000.
