Federal government invests $265 million in Saskatchewan’s clean energy projects

A release from Environment and Climate Change Canada said reliable, affordable, and clean energy is the backbone of a strong economy. Over 80% of Canada’s electricity comes from clean sources like wind, solar, nuclear and hydro – bringing in a lot of investment.

On December 5, 2024, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, announced over $265 million in job-creating investments in SaskPower and Saskatchewan clean electricity projects. $12 million will go into Indigenous-led renewable power projects.
